Dr. Eric Kano Mayer, MD is a board-certified physician specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, and interventional spine care, providing comprehensive non-surgical pain management for patients with back, neck, and musculoskeletal conditions. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed a surgical internship at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, followed by residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School / Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and advanced fellowship training in Spine Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Spine Health. Prior to relocating to Austin, Dr. Mayer spent a decade as Associate Director of the Center for Spine Health at the Cleveland Clinic, where he also held leadership roles in clinical outcomes and transformation. He serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Texas A&M School of Medicine and University of Texas Dell Medical School, is published extensively in spine and interventional pain medicine, and is active in national professional societies. Known for combining deep clinical expertise with patient-centered care, Dr. Mayer focuses on restoring function and improving quality of life through evidence-based, minimally invasive interventions.
